Putting Games - Putter PIG
A fun game of PIG to play with a putter and putting machine
Published Jul 29, 2005 by lobo235If you are ever looking for something fun to do when you are bored, try playing Putter PIG. All you need to play Putter Pig is a putting machine, a golf ball, and a putter. Here's how you play:
- Place your putting machine by a wall so that you will be putting towards the wall.
- Determine what order everyone will putt in. You can do it by age or height for example.
- The first person will putt and try to make a shot from anywhere they want. If they make it then the next person in line has to make it too. If the next person makes it then you continue in order until someone misses the shot. If the first person missed the putt then it's the next person's turn to come up with a putt and try to make it.
- For each missed putt you get a letter. For the first putt missed you get a "P", second missed putt gets you an "I", and the third putt missed gets you a "G". Once you have all three letters you are a "PIG" and you are out of the game.
- When someone is on their last shot and they are about the get a "G" they get to try to make the putt two times. If they miss both times they are out but if they make the putt, continue as normal.
When looking for equipment to play Putter PIG, you can find cheap putting machines at most sporting goods stores as well as cheap putters. If you really wanted to be cheap, try to find your putter and putting machine at a used sporting goods store or garage sale. You don't need anything fancy because Putter PIG is all for fun.
The real fun in Putter PIG is when you come up with some pretty crazy putts. Try hitting the golf ball in different ways like with the back of the putter or shooting the golf ball like a pool shot with the end of the handle. You could even start your putt from the top of a table or chair or try and putt the golf ball so it bounces off some surface and then into the putting machine. Be creative, and most of all, have fun playing Putter PIG!
