The 2007 Gary Fisher Tassajara Disc mountain bike is one of the best hardtail bikes out there. With it's unique paint job, excellent components, and genesis geometry you would expect to pay a lot more than you do. The Tassajara has long been the leader of the midrange XC hardtail category beating out other contenders such as the Specialized Rockhopper and the Trek 6000. It has a very plush ride which sometimes makes you forget that you are not on a full-suspension mountain bike.

On this page we have gathered all the technical specs and a few images of the 2007 Gary Fisher Tassajara Disc so that they can be preserved forever. This is our way of paying homage to the only hardtail mountain bike that truly deserves it. Also, Gary Fisher may get rid of the info they have for their older bikes at some point so this page preserves that info for the 2007 Gary Fisher Tassajara Disc.

2007 Gary Fisher Tassajara Disc

Review

We pretty much like everything about this bike but there are a few gripes that we have. The first gripe is that the hydraulic disc brakes are not very good. They are noisy and they are not very smooth. They do manage to stop the bike quite well even in rainy/muddy conditions but If Gary Fisher would have put some Avid Juicy Five brakes on the bike instead it would be a whole lot better. The Avid Juicy Five brakes would bring the overall cost of the bike up a lot though so maybe it is better left as an upgrade for the owner to do. The other thing we don't like about the 2007 Gary Fisher Tassajara Disc was the seat. It is not very comfortable at all. Seats are easy and pretty cheap to replace though so this is not a huge deal.
